We seek experienced Head Start/ECE Training and Technical Assistance
Specialists.
Specialists ICF Head Start Training and Technical Assistance staff each
have years of direct Head Start experience and they are equipped with
the knowledge and passion to support grantees at the highest level. ICF

We seek experienced Head Start Specialists to support Head Start and
Early Head Start programs to ensure high quality Head Start services in
accordance with the Head Start performance standards and all applicable
federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. The Early
Childhood/Head Start Specialist will offer training and support to Head
Start programs and local early childhood professionals, teachers, home
visitors and education managers and share information about relevant
resources available in the state. The Specialist will work with the
programs to correct deficiencies relating to program design and
management, governance, fiscal systems, educational parental and family
engagement, health and nutrition, mental health, oral health. The Early
Childhood/Head Start Specialist will engage programs in dialogue and
learning of best practices for children from birth to three and from
three to five and encourage a culture of learning that promotes school
readiness. This position is home-based and will involve travel to
programs within the state of Alaska.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child
Development, Elementary Education, Family Studies or related subject
required
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in the field of
Early Childhood Education and Head Start required (Direct Head Start
experience is essential)
- Experience offering training and technical
assistance to Head Start and Early Care and Education required
- Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice in early
childhood education
- Experience in early childhood education issues
relating to program design and management, fiscal, parental involvement,
health and nutrition, mental health, and/ or oral health required
- The
ideal candidate will have both a background and experience in Early
Childhood Education settings working with children and families from
diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
- Ability to maintain up to
date knowledge of current child development practices and research based
early childhood quality methods and approaches
- Experience with
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required
- Excellent verbal
and written communication skills required.
